from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hamecke and Kälberbecke nature reserve is a 7.28 hectare nature reserve (NSG) in the municipality of Kierspe in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2003 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 7 Kierspe .

Area description

The NSG are near-natural valley areas of the Hamecke and the Kälberbecke. The Bachtal is mainly occupied by forest and grassland communities of damp to wet locations. Forest areas with brook-alder-ash forest and alder swamp forest are also located in the NSG. There are several species protection waters with reed borders in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the preservation and development of valley areas and as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.
