from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schleipe Valley nature reserve is a 14.13 hectare nature reserve (NSG) east of the Hagen – Dieringhausen railway in the municipality of Kierspe in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2003 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 7 Kierspe . The NSG consists of three areas. The NSG goes up to the municipal boundary. In Meinerzhagen it borders directly on the nature reserve of the same name . The NSG begins in the west directly on the railway line.

Area description

The NSG is the meadow valley of the Schleipe and tributaries as well as the associated source areas and the upper reaches with the floodplain . In the grassland there is wet and wet grassland. In near-natural wet forests there are brook-alder-ash forests, alder-swamp forests, spring areas and beech forests. In the upper reaches of the slope, deciduous forests belong to the NSG.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the conservation and development of the meadow valley and as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.
