Lingese valley nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lingese Valley nature reserve is a 5.66 hectare nature reserve (NSG) in the municipality of Kierspe in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2003 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 7 Kierspe .

Area description

The NSG is a biotope complex with the near-natural Lingese stream with riparian trees and adjacent grassland and creek-alder-ash forest. Source areas also belong to the NSG.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the preservation and development of a brook valley with floodplain and as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.
