Rombrauk nature reserve

The Rombrauk nature reserve is a 5.63 hectare nature reserve (NSG) in the municipality of Kierspe in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2003 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 7 Kierspe . The NSG consists of three areas.

Area description

The NSG is the meadow valley of the Romecke with the floodplain . In the grassland there is wet and wet grassland. In the near-natural wet forests there are brook-alder-ash forest and alder-swamp forest. In the source area of ​​an unnamed tributary of the Romecke, wet forests are growing.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the preservation and development of the meadow valley with spring areas, wet forests and grassland. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.
