Political positioning

According to his own statement, Lichtschlag stands “on the side of the libertarian resistance” and is an opponent of the welfare state . The libertarians rejected democratic participation and demanded - nothing more than - "self-determination."

Lichtschlag described Caspar von Schrenck-Notzing , the founder and publisher (1970–1998) of the Criticón magazine , as a “journalistic role model”. In 2000, Lichtschlag published an article in the libertarian magazine espero (1994–2013).

In a conversation with the weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit in 2003, Lichtschlag described himself as a “libertarian” and emphasized that he was looking for journalistic collaboration with “ national conservatives”. Germany would "mixture of a successful bureaucrat , State fans Umwelthysterikern, men haters and Antifa bosom reigns." Against these "pollution" had a "common strong wave of fresh air" to be organized. The Junge Freiheit congratulated Lichtschlag on 16 November 2007 published on the new website and free peculiarly an interview that the Junge Freiheit with Arne Hoffmann , author of ef and Junge Freiheit , the case Eva Herman had done the day before.

Lichtschlag also writes articles for Junge Freiheit and the magazine Sezession , which is published by Götz Kubitschek's Institute for State Policy . According to Kubitschek, Lichtschlag had originally approached him in order to "- as a right (by which Kubitschek means himself) - to provide him with a place of free speech." Kubitschek named the common opposition to the 1968 movement as one of the most important points of connection with Lichtschlag .

Lichtschlag achieved public attention in 2004 with his campaign against Attac and the NPD . The satirical group Gustloff, where Lichtschlag is named as an intern, had published a website with the slogan “Globalization is not fate - for a world of sovereign nations!” At the Russian web address www.npd-attac.da.ru, on which it was claimed that the NPD and Attac have agreed on a joint website. He wanted to show "that nationalism and socialism are two sides of the same coin".

In an article for Die Welt in 2006, Lichtschlag criticized the voting behavior of the “net state profiteers”, including civil servants, politicians, the unemployed and pensioners , and suggested that we think about depriving them of the right to vote , since they “with their majorities are still productive People ”would vote down. In the same article, Lichtschlag compared the alleged “willingness of high achievers to emigrate” with the mass exodus in the end times of the GDR. Andreas Karsten criticized Lichtschlag in the journal Sheets for German and international politics since his theses on wrong numbers or references in their own magazine peculiarly free based, and accused him in this context a "careless use of wrong numbers."

reception

The political scientist Karin Priester examined the transitions between libertarians , right-wing populists and right-wing extremists . Since 2007, Lichtschlag, the publisher of peculiarly free, who claims to be striving for an alliance of radical libertarian and national conservative forces, has also been seeking proximity to right-wing extremism. As the ideological link between libertarianism and right-wing extremism, social Darwinism functions as the ideology of the naturally willed superiority of the strong over the weak, the elite over the masses.

Awards

In 2009 Lichtschlag received the Gerhard Löwenthal Prize for Journalists from the Conservative Education and Research Foundation and the Roland Baader Award in 2015 from the Institute for Austrian Asset Management .
