Neuendorf , Nowa Wjas in Lower Sorbian , is a district of the city of Lübben (Spreewald) in the Dahme-Spreewald district of Brandenburg .
location
Neuendorf is located in Niederlausitz and about four kilometers southwest of Lübben city center. Neighboring places are Lübben and Treppendorf in the north, Ragow (belongs to Lübbenau / Spreewald ) in the southeast, Terpt (belongs to Luckau ) in the south and Duben and Kaden (both to Luckau) in the west. The federal road 87 leads through the place.
history
Neuendorf was first mentioned in a document in 1473. The then Wendish village belonged to the Wilhelmiterkloster founded in 1497 on the Frauenberg near Lübben .
In Neuendorf, wheat , barley , heather and flax used to be grown, which is why a windmill was built near the village in 1818 . This mill burned down in 1841.
In 1870 the place burned down completely.
The community of Neuendorf used to belong to the Luckau district and has only been in the Lübben district or in the Dahme-Spreewald district since it was incorporated into Lübben in 1974 . With 168 inhabitants, Neuendorf is the smallest district of Lübben.
