Architecture and history

The villa was built in the classicism style around 1820 outside the urban development. It was one of the early suburban developments. However, the predecessor building is a half-timbered house built by Martin Lange in 1686 at Neuer Weg 20 , to which the inscription M. MARTEN LANGEN referred, according to tradition from local researcher Adolf Brinkmann . The villa served as the factory owner's villa for the later Dippe brothers' seed breeding company . The stucco decorations on the facade are remarkable . On the garden side, the house has an arbor .

A wooden loggia was added to the north side of the house in the entrance area around 1890 . The house is surrounded by an old park. Parts of the property fence go back to the historical Quedlinburg city fortifications .
