The house Neuer Weg 42 is a listed building in Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a residential building, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located south of the historic Quedlinburg old town, on the west side of the Neuer Weg. The house Neuer Weg 41 , which is also listed, is adjacent to the south and the house Neuer Weg 43, 44 to the north .

Architecture and history

The two-storey half - timbered house was created by Johann Gabriel Günther according to an inscription on the building in 1783 . The inscription names JGGunther as the builder with a coat of arms . Another source gives the inscription JCGünther . The half-timbered structure is simple, the ground floor was later reconstructed.
