Neuhaus is a district of the Neuhaus-Schierschnitz part of the municipality of Föritztal in the district of Sonneberg in Thuringia .

location

Neuhaus is located in the extreme south of Thuringia in a side valley of the Föritz on the west side of the valley. It has a connection to the federal highway 89 and is located in the hilly foothills of the Thuringian Slate Mountains .

history

The village was first mentioned on March 6, 1315. In 1923 the village was merged with the neighboring towns of Buch , Gessendorf , Mark and Schierschnitz to form Neuhaus-Schierschnitz . This opened on July 6, 2018 in the municipality of Föritztal.
