history

Neuheim as a place is documented in documents of the St. Blaisen Monastery in the Black Forest in 1087, when the noble free Adlelbold von Neuheim (written in the document as "Adelbold de niuheim") - a relative of the Barons von Sellenbüren - bequeathed extensive country estates on the mountain. The founding of the church in Neuheim is also attributed to the barons of Sellenbüren. The church itself was first mentioned in a document in 1173, when the ownership of the church "Our Lady of Neuheim" was confirmed by Pope Cakixtus II to the St. Blasien monastery.

Separation from Menzingen

coat of arms

As part of the municipality on the mountain, Neuheim did not have its own coat of arms until 1848. With the separation in 1848, the question of the coat of arms also became topical, here one resorted to a makeshift solution by changing the Zug coat of arms. A yellow (gold) N was placed on the white shield with a blue bar. In 1942, today's coat of arms was introduced, it shows a green linden tree on a green hill, and yellow (gold) was chosen as the shield color.
