Ngercheu , also called Ngeroi or Carp Island , is a small island in the western Pacific Ocean ; geographically it belongs to the Palau Islands and politically to the administrative area Peleliu of the island republic of Palau . The island is located about 5 kilometers northwest of the island of Peleliu directly on the southwest outer reef of Palau.
The approximately 1 km² large, star-shaped and densely forested island belongs to the subgroup of the Ngeroi Islands , which lie in the south of the Chelbacheb Islands ( Rock Islands ).
Only the Carp Island Resort is located on Ngercheu , a diving base specially designed for (Asian) tourists with an attached hotel complex.
