Southwest Islands ( English Southwest Islands ) is the name of an island region of the Pacific island republic of Palau , which consists of 6 small islands or atolls , which are scattered over a sea area of ​​39,000 km². They are located between 350 and 600 kilometers southwest of Babelthuap , the largest island in the Palau Islands , which does not include the islands of the southwest group.

The northern four southwest islands ( Fanna , Dongosaro , Pulo Anna , Merir ) form the Palauian state of Sonsorol , the two southern ones ( Tobi and the Helen Reef ) form the Palauian state of Hatohobei .

A total of 62 people live on the islands of the southwest group with an aggregate land area of ​​six square kilometers (2000 census).
