Career

societies

Parris began her career with the Everton Ladies COE and played in the first team in the FA Women's Super League from 2011 . She stayed in the first two seasons, in which Everton was third, without scoring, so she scored six goals each in 2013 and 2014, making her one of the league's better goalscorers. In 2010, at the age of 16, she was used in three qualifying games for the 2010/11 UEFA Women's Champions League and scored twice in a 10-0 win against ZFK Borec . As group winners, Everton qualified for the round of 32, where they were used in the goalless draw at MTK Budapest FC . At 7-1 in the second leg, with which Everton made it to the round of 16, she only sat on the bench - also in the following rounds against Brøndby IF and FCR 2001 Duisburg .

In early 2015 she was loaned to Manchester City WFC for a year and then moved permanently to the Citizens. With these, the double from the championship and WSL league cup victory was achieved in 2016 . In the 2017/18 season she was the second best goalscorer in the league with 11 goals. In the UEFA Women's Champions League 2016/17 she reached the semi-finals with her team, where she failed at Olympique Lyon . This was repeated in the 2017/18 UEFA Women's Champions League , scoring one goal in four games. In 2018/19, however , the Citizens failed in the sixteenth-finals at the Spanish champions Atlético Madrid . On February 23 and May 4, 2019, however, a win on penalties against Arsenal won the League Cup and a 3-0 win against West Ham United in front of 43,264 spectators at Wembley Stadium, the FA Women's Cup.

For the 2019/20 season she moved to the French champions Olympique Lyon , where she was used in all games in the first half of the season.

National teams

With the U-17 team, she took part in the second qualifying round for the U-17 European Women's Football Championship in April 2009 , but failed in Spain. In September 2010 she qualified at a mini-tournament in the Republic of Moldova with the U-19 team in the first qualifying round for the 2011 U-19 European Women's Football Championship for the second qualifying round and contributed four goals. In the second round in Croatia in the spring of 2011 , she only managed one goal and as second in the group, the English missed the finals. In March 2012, she took part with the U-19 team in the second qualifying round for the 2012 U-19 European Women's Football Championship . For this the English women were automatically qualified this time and had home rights in a mini-tournament. Parris contributed four of the eight goals in the three games and qualified with her team for the finals. At this tournament, which was held in Turkey in July , the English women failed to score and were eliminated after the group games. A year later, she and the team again took part in the second qualifying round for the 2013 U-19 European Women's Football Championship , this time at a mini-tournament in Norway . With two goals she had a share in the successful qualification for the finals in Wales . Here, too, she scored two goals on the way to the final, but the final was lost 2-0 after extra time against France. By making it to the semi-finals, the English women had already qualified for the 2014 U-20 Women's World Cup in Canada . There were only two draws here, 1: 1 against South Korea and Mexico. Due to the final 2-1 defeat against eventual finalists Nigeria, in which they had put their team in the lead in the fifth minute, the English were eliminated.

On June 4, 2016 Parris made her debut in a 7-0 European Championship qualifier against Serbia in the English national team when she was substituted on in the 57th minute. In the second leg three days later in Serbia , which was also won 7-0, she came off the bench in the 56th minute and scored her first two international goals to 6-0 and 7-0. She was used in the last two qualifying games in September and scored another goal in the 2-0 win against Belgium , with which the English won the group. This was followed by short appearances in two international matches in October and at the SheBelieves Cup 2017 , in which she remained without scoring. She was also nominated as the youngest Englishwoman for the 2017 European Women's Football Championship and played in the first and last group game. She scored the 2-1 winner against Portugal . In the knockout round, in which England was eliminated in the semi-finals against the hosts and later European champions Netherlands , it was no longer used.

In qualifying for the 2019 World Cup , she was England's top scorer with six goals in six games .

In spring 2019, the English women won the SheBelieves Cup 2019 for the first time , scoring a goal in a 2-2 draw against hosts USA . There were two more appearances at the April Test Games and on May 8th the nomination for the World Cup in France . At the World Cup she was used in all seven English games. In the first group game against the northern neighbor , she scored the first tournament goal for her team with a penalty. In the second group game against Argentina , she missed a penalty when the score was 0-0. Your team could still win the game with a goal from Jodie Taylor . Even in the quarter-finals against Norway, she could not convert a penalty when the score was 3-0. Their team missed a medal due to a 2-1 defeat against Sweden in the game for third place.
