Nikolas Katsigiannis (born September 17, 1982 in Werne ) is a German handball goalkeeper . His father is Greek, his mother German.

Career

Katsigiannis began playing handball at HC TuRa Bergkamen in 1987 . From 2002 the goalkeeper stood between the posts at the second division club Ahlener SG . After playing for Eintracht Hildesheim from 2005 to 2007 , with whom he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 2006, he moved to HSG Nordhorn , with which he won the EHF Cup in 2008. In the 2009/10 season he ran for the GWD Minden . From there, Katsigiannis moved to league rivals TSV Hannover-Burgdorf . He signed a contract in Burgdorf that ran until 2012. Even before he moved, he tore a cruciate ligament, the treatment of which meant that he did not play a game for Hannover-Burgdorf. After he had been without a club , he signed the HBW Balingen-Weilstetten in November 2012 , which he left after the 2013/14 season. In September 2014 he joined the Bundesliga club HC Erlangen . In January 2015 he signed a one-year contract with THW Kiel for the 2015/16 season . After the end of his contract he returned to HC Erlangen.

Katsigiannis played five A- internationals , 17 youth internationals and two junior internationals for the German Handball Federation (DHB). He made his debut in the men's national team on June 21, 2009 in Rishon leTzion against Israel .
