The Gasthof Nockhof , farm name Oberer Nockhof , near Mutters not far from Innsbruck in Tyrol is at an altitude of 1264  m above sea level. A. on the shoulder of the Saile (Nockspitze) above the entrance to the Wipptal .

It is located at the intermediate station of the Muttereralmbahn and is now operated as a mountain inn with no overnight accommodation.

Nockhof versus Nockspitze (1962)

The Nockhöfe were mapped out by the 18th century at the latest. Already in the early 19th century they were popular as a place to relax because of their healing spring ( location ), Weber mentions them in 1842 as “moderate accommodation”. Since then they have also been a base for mountaineering in the Saile area.

Over the years, the Obere Nockhof was converted into an inn, and until recently it also had 15 beds. Today it is run under new management as a pure guest business with around 200 seats.

Marien- / Leonhardkapelle

The court chapel at the driveway below was built in the second half of the 19th century. From time immemorial it has been run as the Marien- Chapel, today also as the Leonhard- Chapel. It is has a wooden shingle roof and a ridge turret . The country baroque designed facade - white with yellow window surrounds - decorated with a young Lüftelmalerei - cartridge above the round window above the door, with the inscription protect Holy Leonhard Prayer.

In 1953 the Muttereralmbahn was built, which was in operation until 2000 and reopened in January 2006 after a new building. This leads to the ski area of ​​the Mutterer Alm .
