action

Victoria Bodeen returns to her hometown after many years, where she wants to open a shop for handicrafts. She also wants to solve the violent death of her friend Hope Lavelle, which happened 18 years ago. Since that event, she has been plagued by nightmarish visions in which she sees Hope and other victims of violent crime. Her visions helped find kidnapped children in New York City .

Hope's mother Margaret tries to persuade Victoria to leave the village by paying a large sum of money in order to avoid any further contact with her daughter's girlfriend at the time, and she does not want her children to come into contact with Victoria. Hope's sister Faith still resents Victoria that Hope saw Victoria as a sister rather than her. It is different with Cade, Hope's brother. He supports Victoria in her research and also gets closer to her privately. Victoria learns that every anniversary of Hope's death, another woman is murdered. She suspects the serial killer to be among her friends.

When Victoria opens her business, she agrees with a woman that she can work for her. A short time later, the woman is murdered. Victoria's abusive father is suspected of having injured a policewoman and has been on the run ever since. He ambushes his daughter in the shop and steals cash. A little later, Victoria's mother is found dead. Faith supports Victoria in business after this bad time; she befriends - which she herself describes as surprising - with Tory.

Then Victoria's father reappears. Shots are fired and he is routed by Faith and Tory, but can first steal Faith's car to continue his escape. The shots are heard not only by the police but also by Cade, who rush to the aid of the women. Victoria sees the hands of her father in a vision, who drives the car into an agricultural machine, whereupon the car explodes.

Although Faith and Cade persuade their mother Margaret to finally stop their hostile behavior towards Victoria, this attempt remains unsuccessful. On the contrary - she threatens her children to remove them from her will and leaves the house. Although it is believed that the danger has now been averted, Victoria senses that it is not. And so it is, the young woman is attacked by a man who grew up with her and Cade. At the time, he not only wanted to rape and murder Hope, but also Victoria. It was her luck that she could not keep the appointment she had made with her friend. With all his might, Tory defends himself against the attacker. In the meantime it has been found that Tory's father cannot possibly have committed the murders he is accused of. Police Chief Russ and Cade show up at Victoria just in time to foil another crime.

criticism

The magazine TVdirekt , issue 15/2007, found that "the excitement" remains "within limits".

The critic of Teleschau - the media service wrote that the film mixes the genres of family drama, crime, romance and thriller. It is "quite entertaining" and in places "a little creepy", but "in places a bit overly petty".

“An awkward juxtaposition of clichés. - Almost even more stupid than the German title. "

The Frankfurter Neue Presse was at the premiere "the story [is] in such a way manageable and idyllic as the American small town, in the play of Nora Roberts novel and the film. The characters [...] only black or white, only good or bad [...]. The emotions [are] unnaturally sugar-sweet, but still this love thriller captivates with its cleverly built tension and its sympathetic actors. Much more than after enjoying a penny novel - from which the title could come - stay afterwards, although 90 entertaining minutes without the feeling of wanting to switch over, [is] something ”.

In Kino.de it was said that this "co-produced bestselling films still going to the movies Friday ARD compare" were. “The darkest contribution is shown by the 'first' as the grand finale. Despite the romantic title, 'Lilien im Sommerwind' tells a rather violent story. [...] Even more than the rest of the series, 'Lilien im Sommerwind' provides various goose bumps. […] With the casting of the mother of Faith and Hope, Tolkin succeeded in a small coup: Jacqueline Bisset turned the embittered woman, who still blames Tory for the death of her daughter, into a dignified role in old age .
