Italy registered for the 6th Nordic World Ski Championships , which took place from February 5 to 10, 1929 in Zakopane , Poland , two participants, a man and a woman.

The Italian Ski Association sent its current master in ski jumping and Nordic combined to the FIS races in Zakopane . Vitale Venzi could not achieve any top places in either the ski jumping of the Wielka Krokiew or in the combined competition.

The Italian Ski Association announced the skier and alpinist Lea dei Conti Scheibler , a descendant of Johann Heinrich Scheibler, for the women's cross-country skiing over 7 kilometers, which was practically a demonstration competition at the Zakopane World Championships, but which the FIS did not include in the official program from Monschein from the ennobled Milanese line of the famous Scheibler family .

Just like the two well-known Szapáry sisters, Scheibler withdrew their entry shortly before the start of the competition for reasons that were not reported in detail.
