The Karlsruhe Northwest City is a district of Karlsruhe .

Catholic Church of St. Konrad

The development began with the municipal clinic in 1907. This was followed by several barracks . Their extensive facilities are used commercially today by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (West University, Akaflieg ), an authority center, the Egon von Neindorff riding institute and new buildings by the Federal Institute for Hydraulic Engineering .

To the north there are later residential areas. On a lower-lying strip of land, a former arm of the Rhine , there are gardens and sports facilities, including the disused stadium of the Karlsruhe FV . At the north end are the locations of the State Institute for the Environment, Measurements and Nature Conservation , the cosmetics manufacturer L'Oréal and the educational academy of the Karlsruhe Chamber of Crafts . To the east is the Alter Flugplatz nature reserve .
