Nuno Miguel Pereira Lopes (born May 6, 1978 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese actor .

Life

Following his studies at the Lisbon Film and Theater School ( ESTC - Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema ), he attended courses abroad, in Paris and especially in New York City , where he also studied dance, singing and music. He played various roles in the theater, in plays by Brecht , Shakespeare , Strindberg , Perec or Heiner Müller , in productions by Luís Miguel Cintra , António Pires and others.

In addition to his theater activities, he also took on various film roles. He often appeared on Portuguese television and was best known in comic series. In 2002 he went to Brazil for a telenovela , which gained popularity.

With the film Alice (2005, director: Marco Martins ), which was equally successful with both critics and audiences , and his leading role as a young father who spent months desperately looking for his daughter who was lost in the city bustle, he became known to a wide audience in Portugal as a serious actor. but also attracted international attention. Lopes received the award as Shooting Star at the Berlinale 2006 , and in Portugal a Globo de Ouro as best actor.

This was followed by other roles, both in sophisticated auteur films and, after a self-chosen television break of several years, in the successful comedy series Os Contemporâneos by the public RTP .
