The Estadi de Son Moix ( Spanish Estadio de Son Moix ) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Spanish city of Palma on Mallorca , Balearic Islands .

history

Since it was built in 1999, it has been the home of the Spanish soccer club RCD Mallorca . Previously, the RCD played in the Estadio Lluis Sitjar , which was used by the B-team until 2007 and has been lying idle since then . The stadium can seat a maximum of 23,142 spectators.

In August 2010, the Iberostar hotel group became the name sponsor of the RCD Mallorca venue until 2013 . This contract was then initially extended to summer 2017, but Iberostar did not accept the significantly increased demands of the club in further negotiations, which is why the stadium has been called Estadi de Son Moix since summer 2017 .
