history

Half-timbered house in Oberdorf

The place Oberdorf was mentioned in 1492 as "Obernndorf". The place belonged to the manor of the manor Tettau , which Hans von Hagenest sold to the Remse monastery that year . In 1543, Oberdorf was once the property of the Remse Monastery, which was dissolved in the course of the Reformation in 1533, through purchase to the Lords of Schönburg . Since then the place has belonged as an official village to the Schönburg rule of Remse , which, however, was under Wettin suzerainty as a feudal rule . As part of the administrative reorganization of the Kingdom of Saxony, Oberdorf was subordinated to the Zwickau district administration as part of the Schönburg suzerainty in Remse in 1835. The feudal lordship of Remse and its locations has since been administratively administered by the royal Saxon office of Zwickau .

From 1856 Oberdorf belonged to the Remse court office and from 1875 initially to the Zwickau administration . After an administrative reform was carried out in the area of the Schönburg recession in 1878, Oberdorf and the entire former judicial district of Remse came to the newly founded Saxon governorate of Glauchau in 1880 .

On July 1, 1950, Oberdorf was incorporated into Tettau , which in turn was incorporated into the community of Schönberg on January 1, 1974 . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Oberdorf came to the Glauchau district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Glauchau from 1990 and in 1994 in the district of Chemnitzer Land and in 2008 in the district Zwickau rose.
