The Oberstabsbootsmann is one of the ranks of the Bundeswehr .

The Oberstabsbootsmann is one of the ranks of the Bundeswehr for naval uniform wearers . The legal basis is the order of the Federal President on the rank designations and uniforms of soldiers and the Soldiers Act .

Rank badge

The rank badges of the chief staff officer show a head angle , including two angles, all three with the point upwards on both lower sleeves . The shoulder badges are designed similarly. The epaulettes are also edged with a closed braid .

history

The rank was introduced in 1955. Promotions to chief officer were suspended between 1969 and 1983.

Others

The rank designation for air force and army uniform carriers of the same rank is Oberstabsfeldwebel . With regard to authority, appointment , pay , the subordinate and superordinate ranks, similarly also with regard to the service positions, senior staff officers and senior staff sergeants are on an equal footing.

National People's Army and Wehrmacht

In the Navy of the Wehrmacht and the People's Navy , there was no rank of senior staff officer. In the Navy, however, there was a similar rank of senior officer , which was also the highest rank for portepee sergeants . In the People's Navy there was neither an identical nor similar rank. Here the chief of staff was the highest rank for non-commissioned officers with portepee.
