Ochsenbach is a village in the Kirbachtal in the Ludwigsburg district , Baden-Württemberg ( Germany ). The municipality, which was independent until 1973, is now part of the city of Sachsenheim and has around 890 inhabitants.

geography

Ochsenbach is about 9 km as the crow flies northwest of the core town of Sachsenhein in the Kirbachtal. The neighboring town to the west is Häfnerhaslach , to the east is Spielberg , both of which also belong to Sachsenheim. The northern neighbor Eibensbach belongs to Güglingen and can be reached via the state road 1110. South of Ochsenbach is Horrheim and southwest Gündelbach , both districts of Vaihingen an der Enz . The hamlet Kirbachhof (to the west) belongs administratively to Ochsenbach.

The village itself lies on a ridge between Ochsenbach and Tannenbrunnenbächle , both tributaries of the Kirbach, which flows in a west-east direction . The village road has an altitude of 275  m to 290  m above sea level. NN , while the Kirbach near Ochsenbach, which flows past in the south, has an altitude of about 256  m above sea level. NN has. In the north, the ridge of the Stromberg rises to over 410 m, the pass of the L 1110 is 393  m above sea level. NN . In the south lies the ridge of the Great Bromberg with the 476.6  m high summit of the Baiselsberg.

history

Ochsenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1290. At that time the village was partly owned by the Lords of Neuffen . In 1317 "Ulrich vom Stein " sold 15 pounds Heller annual interest to Maulbronn monastery from the mill in Schippach "plus 3 pounds Heller annual interest on the Upper Mill ( Bromberger Mühle ) and 6 chickens on the Kalkwiese" near Ochsenbach and had already wholly or partially succeeded the lords of Bromberg , who had their seat in neighboring Bromberg . The ducal rent chamber divided the former manor Bromberg on June 4, 1766 among the three communities Hohenhaslach, Ochsenbach and Spielberg. The old Rennweg on the ridge of the Fleckenwald was used to draw the boundaries . The castle , which had not been habitable since the 1730s because of its dilapidation , fell to Ochsenbach, whose administration had the ruins removed down to the foundations in 1824 and used the stones "to build the Vicinalstraße passing through the valley" (today Landesstraße 1110).

Weiberzeche

Until 1835, women claimed the so-called Weiberzeche , "according to which the local women were given a piece of bread and drink of wine every year on Invocavit, later on Whit Monday". When the parish council wanted to abolish this custom for the first time in 1798, according to Paul, “some women with axes moved into the parish forest and cut down one of the strongest oaks, whereupon the women got their bill again, which this time amounted to 36 florins, but the men concerned still had to pay forest fine ”.

Affiliations

In 1380 Ochsenbach, like the communities in the area, was already assigned to the Württemberg feudal lordship and the Güglingen office. This connection with the Zabergäu , from 1808 in the Oberamt Brackenheim , was maintained until 1938. From 1938 to 1973 the community of Ochsenbach belonged to the district of Vaihingen . With the administrative reform in Baden-Württemberg, Ochsenbach became a district of the city of Sachsenheim on January 1, 1973 and has been part of the Ludwigsburg district ever since .

Church law, the village belonged to the Reformation to the country chapter Vaihingen in Archidiakonat Trinity of the Diocese of Speyer and since then with Spielberg to church district of Vaihingen .
