history

To the east of Oedenthurn there is a castle stable on the Haberberg . There are no written records of the former castle. Possibly it was called Plassenburg, because in the early 19th century Oedenthurn was also known as Plassenburg. An interest book of the Palatine Office of Hohenfels from 1400/10 calls "Plossenburg" and means the settlement of Oedenthurn, which is subject to interest. Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , around 1800, Oedenthurn in the Hohenfels Office consisted of an estate the size of a half-yard, on which the subject Ehrensperger sat.

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806), tax districts were initially formed from several locations each, so Großbissendorf from ten locations, including the wasteland of Oedenthurn. In the course of the implementation of the second municipal edict of 1818, it became the rural community of Großbissendorf, to which the wasteland of Oedenthurn also belonged. On January 1, 1946, Oedenthurn was attached to the Hörmannsdorf community. This was incorporated into the city of Parsberg on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
