Oeynhausen is a place in the Austrian cadastral municipality of the same name and belongs to the municipality of Traiskirchen .
The widowed Countess Schulenburg-Oeynhausen initially owned the lordships of Tribuswinkel and Oberwaltersdorf . After Empress Maria Theresa ordered the systematic construction of a village called Theresienfeld , the Countess wanted to do the same. In 1768 a patent was issued, according to which farmers were allowed to settle on manorial pastures . The "Wienerische Diarium" of January 16, 1771 announced the settlement in the large unused area between Tribuswinkel and Oberwaltersdorf. On November 9, 1771, the construction of the village on the Hochstrasse (Poststrasse) between Traiskirchen and Günselsdorf was approved. It got the name of the founder. First, wooden huts were built, next to which houses made of rubble masonry were built.
In 1832 there were documented 23 houses on both sides of the street and an inn. In 1873 the volunteer fire brigade Oeynhausen was founded. The church was consecrated in 1874 and the school in 1878.
In 1920 the cadastral community of Oeynhausen was separated from the community of Tribuswinkel and became its own community. During the Second World War , the municipality of Traiskirchen took over the municipality of Traiskirchen in 1943. The place was badly damaged during the war. In 1945 Oeynhausen became independent again.
In 1972, as part of the major community reform in Lower Austria, it was merged with the town of Traiskirchen. In the course of this, Tribuswinkel was also incorporated into Traiskirchen.
In 2003, the Oeynhausen volunteer fire brigade founded a youth fire brigade to offer children and young people a meaningful leisure activity.
