Lars Gustaf Oscar Dansk (born February 28, 1994 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Vegas Golden Knights in the National Hockey League since July 2017 and for their farm team, the Chicago Wolves , in the American Hockey League is used.

Career

Oscar Dansk began his career in 2009 in the youth division of Väsby IK Hockey from the Stockholm area. At the age of 13 he moved to North America, where he spent three years on the ice with the Shuttuck St. Mary’s in Oklahoma. In 2010 he returned to Sweden and spent the next two seasons at Brynäs IF . He played both in the J18 Elit, in whose western season he had the best catch quota and the lowest goals against goals in 2010/11, as well as in the J20 SuperElit .

In the 2012 NHL Entry Draft , Dansk was drawn by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round as the 31st player. However, he moved to the Erie Otters , who had selected him in the same year in the first round of the CHL Import Drafts as a third player overall, in the Ontario Hockey League . After he had conceded the lowest number of goals conceded in the OHL in 2014 and was elected to the Third All-Star Team, the Blue Jackets finally signed him. However, he did not come to the NHL in the 2014/15 season , but played for the farm teams of the Blue Jackets in the AHL ( Springfield Falcons ) and the ECHL ( Kalamazoo Wings ). He was then loaned to Rögle BK from Svenska Hockeyligan in 2015 , where he subsequently guarded the gate for two years.

After the 2016/17 season, Dansk did not receive a new contract from the Blue Jackets, so he joined the newly founded Vegas Golden Knights as a free agent in July 2017 .

International

Oscar Dansk represented his home country at the U18 World Cup in 2012 , when he made a significant contribution to Sweden's runner-up in the World Cup, as well as the U20 World Cup in 2013, with the second best catch rate and the second best goals against goals of the tournament (behind the American Collin Olson ) when he was not used, and in 2014 , when he was voted best goalkeeper with the second best goals against goal behind the Finn Juuse Saros and the third best catch rate behind Saros and the Russian Andrei Wassilewski . At both U20 World Championships he was again runner- up with the Swedish junior team .
