Ottavia Cestonaro (born January 12, 1995 in Vicenza ) is an Italian long and triple jumper .

Athletic career

Ottavia Cestonaro gained her first international experience at the 2011 Youth World Championships near Lille , where she finished seventh in the long jump with a distance of 5.93 m and was eliminated in the qualification in the triple jump with 12.55 m. She then finished fourth at the European Youth Olympic Festival with 12.82 m and sixth with the Italian 4 x 100 meter relay in 47.73 s. In the following year she recorded more successes in the triple jump, for example at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona , where she finished eighth in the triple jump final with 13.29 m. In 2013 she won the gold medal at the Junior European Championships in Rieti in the triple jump with 13.41 m and was eighth in the long jump with 6.07 m. At the Junior World Championships in Eugene in 2014, she made it to the final again and finished eleventh there with a width of 13.03 m.

At the U23 European Championships in Tallinn 2015, she reached the triple jump final, where she secured seventh place with a season best of 13.34 m. In the long jump, however, she was eliminated from the qualification with 6.04 meters. Two years later she was sixth in the triple jump and tenth in the long jump at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland . At the Summer Universiade in Taipei , the student from the University of Padua missed a medal in fourth in the triple jump with 13.51 m. In 2018 she won the silver medal at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona behind the French Yanis David with a new personal best of 14.05 m . So she qualified for the European Championships in Berlin , where she did not get a valid attempt. The following year she took part again in the Student World Games in Naples , where she finished ninth with 13.32 m.

In 2015, 2018 and 2019 , Cestonaro was Italian champion in the triple jump outdoors and in 2018 also indoors. In addition, she secured the championship title in the indoor pentathlon in 2016 and 2017.
