Otto Frey (Chief Bailiff)

Otto Franz Frey (born October 11, 1824 in Gaggenau ; † February 12, 1903 in Karlsruhe ) was a German administrative officer and parliamentarian.

Life

Born as the son of a main teacher, Otto Frey attended elementary school in Gaggenau, the pedagogy in Baden-Baden and the Lyceum in Rastatt. He then studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1846 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg . In 1851 he passed the first state examination and became a legal trainee, then in 1854 trainee lawyer. In 1857 he came to the Bühl district office . His next career stops were 1,859 Government Secretary to the Government of the Middle Rhine circle in Rastatt, 1862 bailiff in Heidelberg and in 1864 bailiff at the District Office Emmendingen . In 1865 he was appointed senior bailiff and board member of the St. Blasien district office. In 1867 he moved to the district office of Engen , 1871 to the district office of Sinsheim , 1877 to the district office of Tauberbischofsheim and in 1882 to the district office of Bühl . In 1886 he was appointed to the administrative court in Karlsruhe as a secret councilor . In 1892 he became a deputy member of the Chamber of Accounts. In 1899 he was appointed to the Secret Upper Government Council and retired at the age of 75.

From 1878 to 1890 Frey was a member of the 51st electoral district (Sinsheim) to the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly . He belonged to the faction of the National Liberal Party .
