Bruno Rühl

Bruno Rühl (born September 3, 1926 in Mühlhausen ; † November 23, 2018 ) was a local politician from Baden-Württemberg . He was from 1964 to 1972 District Administrator of the district Tauberbischofsheim from 1973 to 1981, the first Chief Executive of the Main-Tauber District , which was established in 1973 recreated from the Altkreisen Tauberbischofsheim and Mergentheim. From 1973 to 1981 Rühl was President of the Baden-Württemberg District Assembly .

Bruno Rühl was born on September 3, 1926 in Mühlhausen as the son of a farmer; he was a Catholic denomination. From 1938 to 1939 he attended high school in Rastatt and from 1939 to 1943 in Heidelberg . After his military service and the Abitur, which he obtained in 1946/47 through pre-semester courses at the University of Heidelberg , Rühl studied law and economics at the University of Heidelberg from 1947 . Rühl passed the first state examination in 1950 and the second in 1954.

In 1954, Rühl joined the civil service as a government assessor at the Bruchsal district office. After various professional positions, he became district administrator of the Tauberbischofsheim district in 1964 . Rühl led the Tauberbischofsheim district until 1972, when it was merged with the Mergentheim district to form the newly created Main-Tauber district . Subsequently, from 1973 Rühl became the first district administrator of the Main-Tauber district. During his tenure, several major projects were implemented in what is now the Main-Tauber district: including the Mainhafen Wertheim , the expansion of the A 81 motorway , the construction of the district road, the construction of the district hospital and a residential complex for the elderly in Tauberbischofsheim as well as the creation of the district's vocational training centers in Bad Mergentheim , Tauberbischofsheim and Wertheim . Rühl's term of office ended in 1981.

On December 3, 1973, Rühl was elected President of the Baden-Württemberg District Assembly. In addition, Rühl was still chairman of the regional association Franconia and Heilbronn-Franconia. In 1981 Bruno Rühl left local politics and was elected President of the Württemberg Savings Banks and Giro Association. Rühl then moved to Stuttgart . In 1991 he retired.

Rühl was a member of the CDU .
