refrain 50 cents
1st verse 50 cents
2nd stanza Snoop Dogg
3rd stanza Lloyd Banks
4th stanza Young Buck

PIMP is thematically assigned to gangsta rap . In it, 50 Cent glorifies the life of a pimp . So he raps in the role of the lyrical self about wealth, luxury brands and his dissolute lifestyle. Thanks to his money, he came into contact with numerous women whom he eventually forced into prostitution . On the remix version of the song, instead of the second and third verses of 50 Cent, the rappers Snoop Dogg , Lloyd Banks and Young Buck are represented with their own verses. They too rap about women and pimping .

"I don't know what you heard about me
But a bitch can't get a dollar out of me
No Cadillac, no perms, you can't see
That I'm a motherfuckin 'PIMP"

- Extract of the refrain from PIMP

production

The song was produced by the American music producer Mr. Porter , who wrote the lyrics along with 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg , Lloyd Banks and Young Buck .

Music video

The music video made for PIMP (Remix) was directed by American director Chris Robinson. The video has over 370 million views on YouTube (as of June 2020).

At the beginning 50 Cent listens to music on his iPod in his bedroom while he is surrounded by three scantily clad women who massage and clothe him. Finally, dressed completely in white, he leaves his suite, followed by the women. He pulls up in a luxury car in front of a villa where a group of rich men, chaired by Snoop Dogg , are. The group is called the “ Pimp Legion of Doom ” and 50 Cent applies for membership in their circle by showing them his golden “ Magic Stick ”. Then Snoop Dogg, rapping alongside 50 Cent , Lloyd Banks and Young Buck in or in front of the villa between lightly-clad women, from those in the uncensored version of the video, some topless can be seen. At the end of the video, 50 Cent is solemnly accepted into the “ Pimp Legion of Doom ”.

At the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards , PIMP (Remix) was nominated in the Best Rap Video category, but was defeated by Jay-Z's video for 99 Problems .
