Pablo Muñoz (born April 26, 1987 in Jaca ) is a Spanish ice hockey player who has been under contract with CG Puigcerdà in the Spanish Super League since 2017 .

Career

Pablo Muñoz began his career as an ice hockey player at CH Jaca , for whose first team he made his debut in the Spanish Super League in the 2003/04 season , and with whom he was instant champion in his rookie year . He was able to repeat this success with his team in 2005. He then moved to their league rivals FC Barcelona , with whom he was also Spanish champions in the 2008/09 season. Following this success, the winger joined the CG Puigcerdà , with whom he won the 2010 Copa del Rey , the Spanish cup competition.

For the 2011/12 season Muñoz returned to FC Barcelona. There he was player-coach until 2013. He then worked for the club as an assistant coach in addition to his role as a player. Since 2017 he has been playing for the CG Puigcerdà again.

International

For Spain , Muñoz took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in Division II in 2004 and 2005 and the U20 Junior World Championships in Division II in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 and 2007 . He was also the captain of the Spanish student selection at the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey .

In the senior sector he was in his country's squad at the World Championships of Division II in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , when he was named the best player of his team, in 2009 , 2010 , when he was promoted to Division I for the first time at the tournament in Mexico City , In 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , when he was voted best player on his team again, in 2016 and 2018, and at the Division I World Cup in 2011 . He was also on the ice for the Iberians at the qualifying tournaments for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and Pyeongchang in 2018 .
