history

societies

The Palt Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded in 1884. The reason for this was December 8, 1881, when the Ringtheater in Vienna was destroyed by flames. This so-called ring theater fire was one of the greatest disasters of the time with 348 fatalities. Three years later, a small barn was built for the so-called fire extinguishing props such as buckets, ax and bucket syringes. Other milestones in the history of the Palt Volunteer Fire Brigade were:

  • 1895: Purchase of a hand pressure syringe with 63 meters of hose
  • 1955: Foundation of the first competition group
  • 1965: Purchase of the first motorized sprayer
  • 1968: Purchase of a fire engine.
  • 1994: The fire engine is replaced by a new tank fire engine.
  • 2006: Ceremonial opening of the new fire station .
