The men's 5000 meter run at the 2011 Pan American Games took place on October 25, 2011 at the Telmex Athletics Stadium in Guadalajara .

15 athletes from eleven countries took part in the competition. The gold medal was won by Juan Luis Barrios after 14: 13.77 min, silver went to Byron Piedra with 14: 15.74 min and the bronze medal went to Joilson da Silva with 14: 16.11 min.
