The women's discus throw at the 2011 Pan American Games took place on October 28 at the Telmex Athletics Stadium in Guadalajara .

Eleven athletes from eight countries took part in the competition. The gold medal was won by Yarelys Barrios with 66.40 m, which was also a new record for the Pan American Games. Silver went to Aretha Thurmond with 59.53 m and Denia Caballero secured the bronze medal with 58.63 m.
