Paul Hirsch (film editor)

Paul F. Hirsch (born November 14, 1945 in New York City ) is an American film editor .

Life

Hirsch began his career in film editing in 1970 with the comedy Hi, Mom! which was staged by Brian De Palma . Further joint projects of the two followed. His breakthrough came with Star Wars at the latest in 1977, his first collaboration with George Lucas , for which he was awarded an Oscar in 1978 . Hirsch also received a Saturn Award for this work . In 2005 he was nominated again for an Oscar for the film Ray .

Paul Hirsch is a member of the American Cinema Editors .
