Peter McNab got into a scuffle with a fan. His teammate Mike Milbury came to his aid, took off a shoe and beat him with his shoe. McNab and Milbury were banned from the NHL for six games each and fined $ 500 each.
During the 1983/84 season he was sent by the Bruins to his home with the Vancouver Canucks , where he stayed for barely a season and a half and at the beginning of the 1985/86 season signed a contract with the New Jersey Devils , where his father Max McNab at the time the general manager was.
