Pettstadt is a district of the Lower Franconian municipality of Kirchlauter in the Haßberge district .

geography

The village is located in the southern part of the Haßberge an der Lauter nature reserve . The state road 2281 from Köslau to Lauter leads through the town. Bamberg is located about 25 kilometers southeast of Pettstadt.

history

The place name may go back to the personal name "Betto" or to a place or place that brought in prayers or taxes.

In the land register of the Bamberg Benedictine Abbey of Michelsberg Monastery from the middle of the 12th century, eight properties were listed in "Bettstadt". Because possessions in Kirchlauter are mentioned immediately afterwards, it should not be the place of the same name near Bamberg.

A document was mentioned in 1232 in the certificate of division of the Würzburg bishop Hermann , in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and among other things "betelstat" came to the parish Ebern. In the 14th and 15th centuries, various knighthoods were feudal lords in the place. In 1345 Apel Fuchs von Haßfurt received half a tithe to Petzstat. In 1433 the von Rotenhan people had to pay interest in "beczstatt". In 1503 the Würzburg bishop Lorenz issued a feudal letter for the von Guttenberg, among other things, about the village "Bettstatt". In the following centuries the village belonged to the von Guttenberg family. In 1596 the village had 16 hearths. The inhabitants belonged to the parish of Kirchlauter, after the Reformation partly to the Protestant parish of Dörflis . After 1809 Pettstadt came to the Gleusdorf district court .

In 1862 the rural community of Pettstadt was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian District Office Ebern . The village of Pettstadt had 20 residential buildings and 94 inhabitants in 1871, of which 46 were Catholics and 48 Protestants. In 1900 the 354.05 hectare community had 99 residents and 18 residential buildings. The Catholic residents belonged to the parish of Kirchlauter, 2.0 kilometers away, where the Catholic denominational school was also located. The Protestant inhabitants belonged to the parish in Jesserndorf, 5.5 kilometers away . In 1925 there were 99 people in Pettstadt, including 56 Catholics and 43 Protestants, in 16 residential buildings. In 1950 the village had 115 residents and 16 residential buildings. In 1970 there were 82 residents and in 1987 80 residents and 17 residential buildings with 21 apartments.

Pettstadt has been part of the Kirchlauter community since April 1, 1971. In 2001 the village was awarded a bronze medal in the competition "Our village should be more beautiful - our village has a future" in the Bavarian state decision.

Andres Inn

The main building of the Andres Inn has a two-story mansard hipped roof and a half-timbered upper floor to the east. It is marked with "1757" and belonged to an estate whose owner received the concession for a brewery with an inn in 1839. The historic dining room was refurbished around 1920, the stucco ceilings are from the construction period.
