Pietro Fantin (born November 28, 1991 in Curitiba ) is a former Brazilian automobile racing driver . He competed in Formula Renault 3.5 from 2013 to 2015 .

Career

Fantin began his motorsport career like most racing drivers in karting , in which he was active until 2009. In 2010 Fantin switched to formula racing and took part in 9 of 24 races in the South American Formula 3 championship for Hitech Racing Brazil . He won three races and was on the podium five times. In the overall standings, he finished the season in ninth place. He also made nine guest starts in the British Formula 3 Championship for Hitech Racing .

In 2011 Fantin received a cockpit as a regular driver with Hitech Racing in the British Formula 3 championship. He decided a race for himself and finished the season in eighth place. In 2012 Fantin moved to Carlin in the British Formula 3 Championship . With one win and seven podium finishes, Fantin improved to seventh place.

In 2013 Fantin competed for Arden Caterham in the Formula Renault 3.5 . With a seventh place as the best result, he finished the season in 21st place. With 14 to 172 points he was defeated by his team-mate António Félix da Costa , who was third overall. In 2014 Fantin switched to International Draco Racing within the Formula Renault 3.5 . With a third place he achieved a podium finish for the first time. He was 15th in the drivers' standings and internally beat Luca Ghiotto with 34 to 26 points . In 2015 Fantin stayed with International Draco Racing in Formula Renault 3.5. With a third place he again achieved a podium finish. Internally, Fantin clearly prevailed against Bruno Bonifacio with 61 to 1 points and finished the season in tenth place. Both Fantin and Bonifacio left Draco, which was disbanded after the season, after the third to last race weekend.
