British Formula 3 Championship 2011
The British Formula 3 Championship 2011 was the 61st season of the British Formula 3 Championship . It comprised a total of ten race weekends with three races each. It started on April 15th in Monza and ended on October 9th in Silverstone .

Sporting changes
In the third run of a racing weekend, mandatory pit stops were made for the first time. There were still two ratings, but they were renamed. As of 2011, the championship ranking will be called International . The national class ( National ) was renamed the rookie classification . The winner of the rookie classification receives a grant to compete in the international competition in the coming season.

Racing calendar
The racing calendar of the British Formula 3 championship comprised ten racing weekends. There were three races on each race weekend. The first race lasted 30 minutes. The second fastest lap of the qualification was counted for the starting grid. In the second race, which lasted 20 minutes, the top ten drivers from the first race started in reverse order. The winner of the first race drew a lot on the podium that gave him a starting position between sixth and tenth place. The third race lasted 40 minutes. The fastest lap in qualifying counted for the starting grid for this race.
The race weekend in Spa-Francorchamps is part of the 2011 FIA Formula 3 Trophy .
