Jazeman Firhan Jaafar (born November 13, 1992 in Kuala Lumpur ) is a Malaysian racing driver . He competed in British Formula 3 from 2010 to 2012 and was runner-up there in 2012. From 2013 to 2015 he competed in Formula Renault 3.5 .

Career

Jaafar began his motorsport career in 1999 at the age of six in karting, in which he was active until 2005. In 2006, he was in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge his debut in single-seater racing and was immediately a third party. In 2007 he started in the Asian Formula BMW . Since he was only 14 years old, he needed special permission to participate. Jaafar won 10 of 22 races and won the championship. In 2008 Jaafar moved to Europe and competed in the European Formula BMW. After he finished 14th overall in his first season, he stayed in this series in 2009 and finished ninth in the overall standings with two third places.

2010 Jaafar was signed by Carlin for the British Formula 3 championship . With a second place as the best result, he finished twelfth overall. In 2011 Jaafar stayed with Carlin and contested his second season in the British Formula 3 championship. With four podium finishes, he improved to sixth place in the championship. In addition, Jaafar was eligible for points in the 2011 FIA Formula 3 Trophy . With a third place he finished seventh. In 2012 , Jaafar kept his Carlin cockpit and competed in British Formula 3 again. He won three races and was now in first place in the championship. At the end of the season he was defeated by his teammate Jack Harvey with 306 to 319 points and was runner-up. In 2012 Jaafar also took part in three Formula 3 Euro Series events as a guest starter for Carlin . He crossed the finish line once in first place.

In 2013 Jaafar switched to Formula Renault 3.5 , where he again competed for Carlin. With a third place in Monte Carlo as the best result, he finished the season in 17th place overall. Within the team he was defeated by Carlos Huertas with 24 to 30 points. He also took part in an event for the British Formula 3 Championship and the Macau Grand Prix for Carlin in 2013 . He won two races in British Formula 3. In 2014 , Jaafar stayed in Formula Renault 3.5 and switched to ISR within the series , where he had no teammate. Jaafar came third twice and was tenth in the drivers' championship. In 2014 he also competed in a Blancpain Endurance Series race for HTP Motorsport . In 2015 Jaafar contested his third Formula Renault 3.5 season for Fortec Motorsport . He won the race in Monaco and then briefly led the championship. However, further victories did not follow, so that Jaafar fell back to eighth place by the end of the season, while his teammate Oliver Rowland was champion. Jaafar lost to Rowland with 118 to 307 points.
