Podkylava (Hungarian Szakadék - until 1907 Podkilava ) is a municipality in western Slovakia .
The place was first mentioned in 1709.
The municipality is located in the hill country between the Little Carpathians in the south and the White Carpathians in the north. Nové Mesto nad Váhom is about 25 kilometers east of the municipality, Myjava about 7 kilometers east, Senica about 25 kilometers west.
