Brestovec (Hungarian Brezóvölgy ) is a municipality in western Slovakia .
Location and general
The municipality is located in the hill country between the Little Carpathians in the south and the White Carpathians in the north near the border with the Czech Republic and about two kilometers north of the district town of Myjava . Nové Mesto nad Váhom is about 30 kilometers east of the municipality and Senica about 20 kilometers west.
The parish was established on April 1, 1955 when several hermitages were outsourced from the town of Myjava . The name refers to a settlement in this area that has been known since the Middle Ages.
Transport links
The railway line Nové Mesto nad Váhom – Veselí nad Moravou ( Svítkovci stop ) with the 2987-meter-long tunnel to Vrbovce runs through the municipality . The community is also connected to the regional bus network.
