Polish Neudorf ( Polish Polska Nowa Wieś , Silesian Polsko Nowo Wjeś , 1914-1945 Neudorf OS ) is a village in Poland in the municipality Comprachtschütz . She belongs to the Powiat Opolski in Upper Silesia in the Opole Voivodeship .

Polish Neudorf is three kilometers northwest of Comprachtschütz and eleven kilometers southwest of the district town and voivodeship capital Opole .
The village is located on Droga wojewódzka 429 Voivodeship Road . The A4 motorway and the railway line between Opole and Neisse run south of the airport near Polish Neudorf .

history
The place was first mentioned in a document around 1456. Between 1666 and 1688 the first scrap wood church was built in Polish Neudorf.
In 1845 there was a Catholic scrap wood church, a chapel, a Catholic school and another 119 houses in the village. In the same year 840 people lived in Polish Neudorf, 20 of them Protestants. In 1874 the district Comprachtschütz was founded, to which Polish Neudorf was incorporated.
In 1914, Polish Neudorf was renamed Neudorf. In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 629 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 259 for Poland. Neudorf remained with the German Empire . At that time there were 1,431 Catholics, 29 Protestants and 4 Jews living in the village. In 1933 there were 1,634 inhabitants. In 1936, the Neudorf O / S air base was opened south of Neudorf . In 1939 the place had 1,725 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Polska Nowa Wieś and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . After the new church was built between 1949 and 1953, the old scrap wood church was no longer used. Therefore, it was dismantled in 1960 and rebuilt in the village of Szczepanek in Gmina Strzelce Opolskie . In 1999, Polish Neudorf joined the re-established Powiat Opolski . On June 4, 2009 , German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality of Comprachtschütz , which Neudorf belongs to Polish, and on December 1, 2009 the place was also given the official German place name, Polish Neudorf .
