Szczepanek (German Stephanshain ) is a village in the municipality of Strzelce Opolskie ( Groß Strehlitz ) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Polish Voivodeship of Opole . The village belongs to the historical region of Upper Silesia .

history
The Stephanshain colony (then Stephanshayn ) was founded in 1831. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz , which was part of the Prussian province of Upper Silesia .
After the end of the Second World War, the previously German place came under Polish administration, was attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Szczepanek on June 28, 1948 . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1960 the scrap wood church was moved from Polish Neudorf ( Polska Nowa Wieś ) to Szczepanek. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
