Rozmierka (German: Rosmierka ) is a village in Poland in Upper Silesia in the municipality of Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship .

Rozmierka is located eight kilometers north of the municipality and the district town Strzelce Opolskie and 28 kilometers southeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1413. In 1736 a Catholic school was founded. In 1832 the place came into the possession of Count Hyazinth von Strachwitz . In 1865 the place, at that time also written Rosmirka, had 20 farmers, 22 gardeners and 29 cottagers.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 181 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 315 for Poland. Rosmierka stayed with the German Empire . 1933 lived in the place 1102 inhabitants. On April 15, 1936, the place was renamed Groß Maßdorf . In 1939 the place had 1156 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Rozmierka and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. From 1945 to 1954 and from 1973 to 1975 Rozmierka was the seat of the Rozmierka municipality. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki . During the first maypole erection in Rozmierka since the end of the Second World War in May 2012, the town's new coat of arms was presented. It contains elements from the old parish seal.

The coat of arms, which was first presented in May 2012, shows three linen flowers , a white dove and a crown. The crown refers to the estate and to the former noble or counts owners of the place. The linen flowers and the dove are based on the old municipal seal. This indicates the agricultural character of the place.
