Warmątowice (German Warmuntowitz ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz) in the powiat Strzelecki (district of Groß Strehlitz) in the Polish Voivodeship of Opole .

Neighboring places of Warmątowice are in the west Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz), in the north Centawa and in the east Błotnica Strzelecka (Blottnitz).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document around 1300 as "Warmunthowitz" .

In 1793 the place had 126 inhabitants. In 1865 the community consisted of a manorial farm in addition to the village. The village had twelve farmers, twelve gardeners and twelve cottagers. There was also a Kretscham (restaurant). At this time Warmuntowitz was parish and schooled in Centawa . Warmuntowitz was u. a. owned by the Counts of Posadowsky-Wehner.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia in 1921, 68 people voted for Germany and 92 for Poland, 32 for Germany and 45 for Poland at Gut Warmuntowitz - Warmuntowitz remained in the Weimar Republic . In 1933 there were 499 inhabitants in Warmuntowitz. On July 3, 1936, the place was renamed Niedersteine ​​OS . In 1939 there were 503 residents in Niedersteine. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .

In 1945 the place came under Polish administration and was renamed Warmątowice . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki. In a public survey , the residents of the place voted for the introduction of the additional German place name Warmuntowitz . On July 29, 2015, the municipal council approved a bilingual place name.
