Kadłub (German: Kadlub ) is a village in Poland in the municipality of Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz). She belongs to the Powiat Strzelecki in Upper Silesia in the Opole Voivodeship .

geography

Kadłub is 12 kilometers north of the municipality and the district town of Groß Strelitz ( Strzelce Opolskie ) and 25 kilometers east of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1429. In 1777 the place came into the possession of the Counts of Strachwitz .

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 273 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 330 for Poland. Kadlub remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 1003 inhabitants. On July 3, 1936, the place was renamed Starenheim . In 1939 the place had 1,088 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Kadłub and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
