Dziewkowice (German Schewkowitz ) is a place in Upper Silesia in the municipality Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship , Poland .

Dziewkowice is four kilometers northeast of the municipal seat and the district town Strzelce Opolskie and 33 kilometers southeast of the voivodeship capital Opole ( Opole ).
history
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 86 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 405 for Poland. At Gut Schewkowitz, 21 people voted for Germany and 81 for Poland. Schewkowitz remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 1120 inhabitants. On July 3, 1936, the place was renamed Frauenfeld . In 1939 the place had 1233 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .
In 1945 the previously German town came to Poland and was renamed Dziewkowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship , in 1999 to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
