Płużnica Wielka (German: Groß Pluschnitz ) is a village in Poland in the municipality of Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz) in the Powiat Strzelecki . It belongs to the Opole Voivodeship in historic Upper Silesia .

Płużnica Wielka is located 13 kilometers east of the municipality and the district town of Strzelce Opolskie and 43 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1299. In 1302 the place was mentioned as Plusnitz maiori .
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 87 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 53 for Poland. Groß Pluschnitz remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 258 inhabitants. On September 3, 1936, the place was renamed Marklinden . In 1939 the place had 238 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Płużnica Wielka and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
Attractions
- The Catholic Church. Probably built in the 16th century. The church tower was built in the 18th or 19th century.
- Palace complex with park. Built in the first half of the 19th century for the von Posadowsky-Wehner family.
