The New Design University (NDU) was founded in 2004 by the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce and its Economic Development Institute (WIFI). The private university offers bachelor's and master's degrees as well as academic courses in the fields of design, technology and business.

Originally, the NDU was housed in the main WIFI building; In autumn 2014 the university moved to the new tedeZ - Center for Technology and Design in St. Pölten. The building designed by ARGE AllesWirdGu t offers space for classrooms, workshops and laboratories on two floors.

Study access
The basis for admission is the ranking based on an admission procedure with an interview.
The semester fees are EUR 2,950 per semester for a bachelor's degree and EUR 3,500 per semester for a master’s degree (exception: Entrepreneurship & Innovation: EUR 4,500 per semester).
Accreditation status
According to Austrian law, private universities must be reaccredited on a regular basis. The current accreditation period runs until December 31, 2020.
